An internship can provide a student with invaluable work experience that will undoubtedly facilitate the transition into the working world upon completion of their studies. This, both via hands-on and practical skills that the placement will bring but also by developing a network in the field and proving a demonstrable desire to make it in the world of web design.

When applying for an internship, as when applying for a permanent post, you will be required to write a cover letter, and there are certain skills and qualities that a recruiter will be looking for if they are to consider your internship application.

Firstly, they will be looking for someone who is passionate about the internet and web design. An applicant who stays up-to-date with the fast-paced and every-changing developments in this field will not fail to make a positive impression on the reader of the letter.

Furthermore, skills such as the ability to work efficiently and positively in a team environment, whilst being able to display a good level of autonomy, the ability to prioritise and problem solve, will also strongly enhance an applicant’s profile.
