Dear Mr Griffin,
I am writing to you to express my strong interest in filling the position on your Marketing graduate scheme. I heard about the opening through the Nottingham University website, whilst searching for job vacancies in Marketing. Having recently completed a degree in Marketing, obtaining a 2:1, I feel that the skills and experience I have gained throughout my studies make me an ideal candidate for this position.
Throughout my studies I completed numerous Internships and also worked part-time for an established marketing company. During these valuable on-the-job experiences, I was able to build a strong base of skills and knowledge, including excellent computer skills with knowledge of the relevant software, business analysis and competitive market research. I have been seen to stand out in assisting the implementation of planned marketing projects and designs, and have an initial experience in the verification of volume forecasts. In my attached CV you can see in further detail the numerous times that I have been able to demonstrate the skills that will permit me to make a strong contribution to your organisation.
I have strong communication, leadership and team work skills, all of which I have demonstrated during my sporting life, where I have captained a number of teams, including one at varsity level. I have also demonstrated this during my role as events planner for my university ski society.
Through my active participation in university life, I have also shown excellent organisational skills, the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work in high pressured situations, without it affecting the quality of my work. I have a strong passion to make sure that my work is completed to the best standard possible.
My studies have reinforced my decision and passion to follow a career in Marketing. I would relish the opportunity to meet you in person to further discuss my strengths and what your expectations are for the person who fills this position. Thank you for taking the time to look over my application. I will contact you by the end of the week to arrange an interview. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
